Introduction to Taiko - Fall 2010 Classes
Eugene Taiko is excited to offer Introduction to Taiko classes for the community! The 6-week class is on Tuesdays, beginning with a 2-hour session on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Subsequent classes will occur each Tuesday and last for 1-1/2 hours. You'll learn the history of taiko, the basics of playing taiko (grip, stance, form, etc.), drills, and even complete songs. One of the sessions will be devoted to how taiko drums are built and re-headed.
Eugene Taiko is able to offer the Introduction to Taiko classes in part through the generous support of the Lane Arts Council.
Due to the nature of the class we ask that students commit to attending each of the six weekly classes. For participants 18 years and older only please. There are a limited number of spaces available, so sign up soon!
