27th Annual Asian Celebration
Oregon’s longest running Asian festival returns February 18 and 19 to the Lane Events Center in Eugene. The annual Oregon Asian Celebration enters its 27th year with colorful fanfare and two days of cultural activities for all ages. 

As always, Eugene Taiko will provide the Celebration's closing performance, Sunday at 5:35 PM on the main stage.
ET is also presenting an introductory workshop for anyone who'd like to learn just a little bit about taiko drumming (Saturday at 4:00 PM in the Youth Room)

If you're a taiko fanatic, make additional plans to see these other great drumming ensembles:

Waka Daiko - Saturday at 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM on the main stage, and again also on Sunday at 10:00 AM.

Portland Taiko - Saturday at 6:30 PM (main stage)

Ahiru Daiko - Sunday at 12:00 Noon (main stage) and at 1:00 PM (Youth Room)

Winter 2012 Taiko Classes!
Eugene Taiko is excited to once again offer introductory taiko lessons to interested community members. The 7-week course will take place on Tuesday evenings, beginning on February 21 at 6:30 PM. You'll learn the history of taiko, the basics of playing (grip, stance, form, etc.), drills, and complete songs. One of the sessions will be devoted to how taiko drums are built and re-headed.

Due to the nature of the course, we ask that students commit to attending all of the classes. For participants 18 years and older only. There are a limited number of spaces available, so sign up soon!
